Highest Dividend Yield Shares

Highest Dividend Yield Shares is a Classic Value Investors screen. It checks every NSE-listed stock against 1 condition computed from nightly data, after excluding heavily pledged promoters and very small market caps. This page explains the rule, each figure and its source. It lists no stocks and is not advice.

What it does and why

Dividend yield investing is a strategy built on income: buy stocks that return a significant portion of their earnings to shareholders in cash, year after year. A high and consistent dividend yield provides a floor on returns — even if the stock price stagnates, the investor earns income. Companies with a long track record of paying dividends also tend to be financially disciplined: they must generate real cash to keep paying, which limits accounting manipulation. This screener ranks stocks by current dividend yield, filtering for companies that have paid dividends consistently rather than in just one or two years.

What each figure means

Dividend Yield (%)

Annual dividend per share divided by the current stock price, expressed as a percentage. A yield of 3% means for every ₹100 invested, the company pays ₹3 per year in dividends.

High is better

Dividend Per Share (₹)

The total dividend paid per share in the most recent fiscal year, in rupees. This is the absolute cash returned to shareholders per share held.

High is better

Consecutive Years of Dividend Payment

The number of consecutive years the company has paid a dividend. Longer streaks indicate financial stability and management's commitment to shareholder returns.
